Plan around a pickup window
The pickup date becomes dependable after a carrier accepts the dispatch and confirms its schedule. Before that assignment, treat the date as a requested window rather than a guarantee.
Book with enough time to respond to market conditions, especially during snowbird season, holidays and major weather events.
What door-to-door means
The carrier attempts pickup and delivery as close to the addresses as law and safe access permit. Residential streets, low branches, weight restrictions and tight turns may require meeting at a nearby parking area or wide commercial road.
Communication during the move
Hermes remains the brokerage contact while the carrier controls the truck and driving schedule. Delivery estimates can change with weather, inspections, traffic and earlier stops. Keep both Hermes and the driver advised of any change in who will release or receive the vehicle.

Common questions
Is the delivery date guaranteed?
Not unless a separate written term expressly says so. Normal delivery dates are estimates because the carrier’s route can change in transit.
