Website terms and broker disclosure
These terms govern use of hermesautocarriers.com. A signed transport agreement and dispatch confirmation contain the controlling terms for an actual shipment.
Broker status
Hermes Auto Carriers Inc. is a federally registered property broker, MC 1765386 and USDOT 4472602. Hermes arranges transportation by independent motor carriers. Hermes does not operate the truck, employ the driver or take physical possession of the vehicle.
Estimates and carrier assignment
A website or email estimate is based on the information provided and market conditions when prepared. A carrier is not assigned until a qualified motor carrier accepts the shipment and Hermes issues a dispatch confirmation. Pickup and delivery dates are estimates unless a signed agreement expressly states otherwise.
Customer information
You are responsible for accurate vehicle condition, dimensions, modifications, location access, contact details and authority to release the vehicle. Incomplete or inaccurate information may change the equipment, timing or price.
Payment instructions
Pay only the parties and amounts identified in written Hermes documents. The assigned carrier’s balance is normally paid directly to the carrier at delivery using the method stated in the dispatch confirmation. Contact Hermes before acting on a conflicting payment request.
Vehicle condition and claims
Inspect the vehicle at pickup and delivery, take photographs and retain both bills of lading. Suspected new damage should be marked on the delivery document and reported promptly. Coverage and liability are determined by the carrier and its insurer under the applicable documents and policy.
